“A lot of racial and ethnic dynamics are bigger than particular individuals right now, so there’s systemic issues that have to be addressed through the political system, the legal system, and putting the burden on specific individuals to fight these issues is a lot to ask.” – Kyle Ratner

KCSB’s Jonathan Ya interviews Kyle Ratner, an assistant professor in psychological and brain sciences at UCSB, about his study on the negative psychological effects that stereotypes have on Mexican American students. While discussing the study, they also discuss how this study relates to the current social climate in America today.
