KCSB’s News Department is looking for new music for their twice-a-week newscast! Their current theme music has been around for a while and they’re ready for a change. We’re hosting a Music Submission contest! If your audio gets chosen, you will win a shirt, hoodie/sweatpants, AND a KCSBear!
The Department wants to leave it up to your creative freedom! However, if you want examples/inspiration, NPR’s Up First podcast has great introductory and transitional music. Submit any audio tracks to int.news@kcsb.org. If you have any questions, or want more examples of the general sound the News Department is looking for, you can also email int.news@kcsb.org!
They’re looking for:
  • Intro/outro theme music (1 track, no lyrics, between 2-3 minutes)
  • Transition music (3-4 tracks, no lyrics, each giving off individual vibes to use for different types of stories, between 20-30 seconds eac
  • For the transition music – somber/serious, uplifting/heartwarming,intense/”breaking news” are some examples of the different kind of music they would want for the variety of stories they air.
DEADLINE:  May 15th
